PHOTALK: Dragonfly and freedom

They say that where dragonflies fly, the air is clean. Wouldn't it be wonderful to see dragonflies fluttering about?

I was fortunate to have been given a split second chance to click before this dragonfly flew off.

I like this photo for the poignant message it created. A dragonfly perched on a barbed wire. The repressive imagery of the barbed wire neutralized by the freedom of a winged creature that not even the wire's spike could harm it.

Freedom is relative. One may go through the worst trials, of silent aches and pains of the heart and soul. Tears may flow silently and life may wrench a soul. Yet time passes and hope abounds and that in itself is already freedom. For the freedom to cry and vent out life's frustrations is the flipside to the freedom to be happy, to experience joy in life and to simply just be. Freedom still.
